Caffeine and Machine. Really needs no introduction to car enthusiasts in the UK and beyond. I had the pleasure of interviewing Phil McGovern, Co-founder and Creative Director, for Avants.com and for their Members magazine. I spent the day at The Hill, one of three locations they now have in the UK. Being able to observe over the course of the day was a faulting experience. From the customers who would arrive, popping in for a coffee, having a break from a pan-European day trip, the Hoonigans stopping by after filming near by. The mix is endless. What makes it stand out, is that everyone would chat, conversations ensued, and then would move on with their day.

In the evening, Phil hosted ‘I Love You, Man’ with Neil Clifford, CEO of Kurt Geiger, car collector and voice/presenter on Chris Harris and Friends podcast. In Phil’s own words, “‘I Love You, Man’ is an un-recorded, no holds barred conversation about life, careers, ups, downs, struggle, and achievement. It is meant to be a safe haven for people to hear the stories of others that may resonate with whatever is happening in their own lives to remind them that they’re not alone. To remind me that I’m not alone.

Someone’s story could be someone else’s inspiration, and that’s really important. A shared passion and sense of community should never be underestimated, and always remember to tell your friends you love them.

‘everybody is somebody’s everything’.”

Enjoy cars (and bikes, vans, trucks), people, conversation and community? Pop in. I think you might enjoy it.
